Description Description: disc almost naked with only 2-3 rows of narrow scales around the very long radial shields; one infradental and one lateral distal papilla separated from the former by a wide gap on each side of the jaw; dorasal arm plates almost conical; up to six arm spines basally, reduced to three distally, the middle one with strong lateral denticles; no tentacle scales (Sastry, 1995). Habitat: burrows deep into the hard mud (Sastry, 1995).
Also distributed in W India and north of Australia (Clark & Rowe, 1971); India (West Bengal) (Sastry, 1995); Australia (Rowe & Gates, 1995).
General distribution: tropical, Indian Ocean (Indo-Malayan Region), depth range 0-12 m. (Rowe & Gates, 1995); Persian Gulf to Australia (Sastry, 1995). [details]
