From editor or global species database
Spelling Récluz' original spelling Natica gualteriana was obviously a misspelling for N. gualtieriana, as the species was named after the Italian naturalist Niccolo Gualtieri (1688-1744), author of "Index testarum conchyliorum quae adservantur in museo N. Gualtieri". The spelling gualtieriana was first used by Couturier (1907), without comment/explanation; it was then explicitly used as the correct spelling ("nom. correct.") by Cernohorsky (1971). Since Cernohorsky, both spellings gualteriana and gualtieriana have been used in the literature. The spelling gualtieriana is here retained under Art. 32.5.1. [details]
