Description Trichomes free-floating, solitary, irregularly screw-like coiled with up to 6 (-7) coils, which are 24-27 μm wide and 2-4.8 μm high, constricted at the cross-walls, often joined together with pairs of heterocytes. Cells widely barrel-shaped, with aerotopes, (3) 4-8 (11) x 4.6-8.8 (9.9) μm. Heterocytes spherical or widely oval, (3) 4-8 (11 x (3) 4.8-8 μm. Akinetes spherical or slightly longer than wide, widely oval, solitary or in pairs, (5?) 8-12 (15) x (5?) 6-9.6 (12) μm, with colourless exospore.  [details]
