Taxonomic remark Gozhik (2002) lists Viviparus elongatus Stevanovic, 1978 in the synonymy list of V. praeduabicus, but without providing any discussion. In the plate captions, however, he gives both as separate species. Apart from that, it may be doubted that V. elongatus, described from late Miocene Lake Pannon deposits, occurs in the Pliocene of Ukraine. V. elongatus Stevanovic, 1978 is a junior homonym of Paludina elongata d'Orbigny, 1837, for which Neubauer et al. (2014) introduced the replacement name V. stevanovici. [details]
