Editor's comment Although described as belonging to Serpula, typegenus of the annelid family Serpulidae (calcareous tubeworms), the taxon cannot belong here based on its original very short diagnosis, as burrowing organism without a proper tube. It has long been accepted as a Foraminifera. Moreover, Vinn et al (2014) place the probable origin of the calcareous tubeworms in the Triassic, questionably Carboniferous. [details]
