Note: Whittaker and Hodgkinson (Togopi, 1979, p. 83): "In 1968 Hofker [...] cited Cushman's E. craticulatum from Tonga (1933: 48; pl. 11, fig. 5), as being conspecific [with E. batavum]. In 1971, however, he included this reference, without comment, in his synonymy of Cellanthus craticulatus [= Elphidium cratulatum]."
Whittaker and Hodgkinson (1979), who noticed Hofker's change of opinion, do not list Cushman (1933) reference in their synonymy of C. craticulatus.
