Status The parent taxon (Hesperaster) was considered a junior synonym of Ammotrophus by Mortensen (1948: p. 151). While he did not formally mention the new combination Ammotrophus crassus, it appears clear that he considered all Hesperater species to belong to Ammotrophus. [details]
