This work includes a detailed taxonomic analysis of limnetic and littoral zooplankton from 50 systems in the State of Morelos, spanning from the Zempoala region to the Amacuzac River basin, as well as southeastern Mexico. The samples were collected from 200 locations representing parts of the Chiapas Highlands, a portion of the Lacantún River basin, southern Tabasco, particularly the Petenes region, southern Campeche (Calackmul), and south-central Quintana Roo. The zooplankton microfauna of the three main groups (Copepoda, Cladocera, and Rotifera) will be analyzed, and similarities and differences between the two faunas will be established. The results will be integrated into a catalog for the State of Morelos and another for the southeast of the country, in addition to the individual publications generated. Finally, all the data generated will be incorporated into a database (Biotica, version 4.0), and a series of distributional maps of the most important species, due to their distribution and/or abundance in the studied systems.
