Etymology Not stated by the author. The specific epithet seems to be composed by the Ancient Greek noun acme, meaning 'point' or 'tip', and the Latin suffix -ceps, meaning '-headed', and refers presumably to the pointed prostomium of the species: "The prostomium is similarly elongated and pointed [than Scoloplos armiger] but is more slender; it is borne at the end of the peristomium which has the form of a truncate cone" (Chamberlin, 1919: 15).
