Chauvinelia arctica sp. n. is endemic of the Canadian plain. Prostomium is triangule with two large palps and without eyes. Body has 0-3 pairs of short gills. long wide part of the thorax is without setae (figs. 1-3). Body has few papillae. Notosetae are typical shape (figs. 4-6). The distal appendages of neurosetae resemble distal part of the notosetae (figs. 7, 8). Aciculae absent. Body consists of 20-22 segments.
