Spelling Hartman (1959) introduced the subfamily with the spelling Namanereinae. After 1971 when Pettibone introduced the family spelling of 'Nereididae' based on the correct genitive stem of Nereid (from Nereidis) authors changed her name to Namanereidinae. For example the major monograph of Glasby (1999) used Namanereidinae. [details]
