Nomenclature Thiele (1898) did not formally create this variety although he created the variety 'granosa' in the same article (p. 66, plate 6). It automatically means that the species was represented by at least two varieties, the new variety and the typical variety. The (nomino)typical variety must bear the same name as the species name (so the species name is repeated), taking the species author as its authorship (ICZN art. 47.1). [details]
