Validity There were doubts concerning the validity of this species, as it didn't seem to accomplish article 16.4 of the ICZN, according to which the original publication of a new specific name must be accompanied "[...] by the explicit fixation of a holotype, or syntypes, for the nominal taxon [...]", and, "[...] where the holotype or syntypes are extant specimens, by a statement of intent that they will be (or are) deposited in a collection and a statement indicating the name and location of that collection [...]". In the present case, the type material was never deposited in a collection, contrary to what was stated in the original publication. The Editor contacted Dr. Miguel Ángel Alonso-Zarazaga, Comissioner of the ICZN, concerning this question. According to Dr. Alonso-Zarazaga [pers. comm. May 15 2015] the species is valid, as in spite of not having deposited the type material, the authors accomplished with the "statement of intent" of depositing it in a collection. The authors are recommended by Dr. Alonso-Zarazaga to deposit the type and other material in another collection and to publish this information as a short note, if possible in the same journal where the species was originally described.  [details]
