Description Colonies microscopic, free-floating, elongated or irregular, dimensions 10–75 x 8–20 µm with cells in rows, which are packed more or less parallel in a colourless, diffuse mucilage. The cells are rod-shaped to cylindrical, with cut ends, pale blue-green with homogeneous content without aerotopes, dimensions 1.8–2.5–3.2 x 0.9–1.2–1.4.
