Homonymy Sabella picta is correctly recorded as a homonym in the Hartman catalogue (it is a junior primary homonym to Sabella picta Krøyer, 1856), although Hartman refers the name to Chone picta. Tovar-Hernández (2007: 545) presents new records and a description as Chone picta, and uses the name as valid. However, this is not possible, as a junior primary homonym is permanently invalid (Code article 57.2) and needs a replacement name. There cannot be two identical original names. Recombination into another genus does not make the name valid. Tovar-Hernández (2007) does not comment on the homonymy problem. [details]
