Status In 1816, Lamarck (p. 35) proposed the name Cassidulus australis for exactly the same figured specimen ("Encyclop. pl. 143, fig. 8, 9, 10") that he had named Cassidulus caribaearum in 1801 (Lamarck, 1801; p. 349). The two species, therefore, are objective synonyms. [details]
