Description "Die größte Höhe der LK liegt etwa in der Mitte, die der RK vor der Mitte. DR der LK gewölbt, der der LK abgeflacht. Hinterende spitz gerundet. Oberfläche der Schale mit feinen Gruben (nur im REM sichtbar), dicht behaart. Ränder beider Klappen am VR mit Saum, am hinteren UR mit einer feinen, häutigen Zahnreihe. Farbe im Durchlicht hell, mit dunklem Pigmentfleck um das Muskelfeld herum. Schloß kompliziert, an der RK vorn und hinten vor und hinter dem Schloßrand mit Hilfsbezahnung. Der Gegenpart dieser Bezahnung ist an der LK kaum nachweisbar. Schloßrand selbst vorn und hinten an der RK mit kleinen, tropfenförmigen Zähnchen, in der Mitte glatt. An der LK keine Gruben nachgewiesen." (Hartmann, 1979: 220-221)

The margins of both valves show a marginal flange at the anterior ventral edge, and a fine membranous row of denticles at the posterior lower margin. The coloration in transmitted light is pale, with a dark pigment spot around the muscle scar field. The hinge is complex; in the RV, accessory dentition is present anterior and posterior to the hinge line. The counterpart of this dentition is barely recognizable in the LV. The hinge line itself in the RV has small, drop-shaped denticles at both ends, while the middle part is smooth. No pits were observed on the LV."
