Taxonomy Referred by various authors to recombination as a valid species of genus Spirobranchus, where it remains currently (in 2020), for example Ehlers (1907: in passing in text flow), Johansson (1918: 8-10 for Australia), Day (1967: 803 Madagascar). However, the Hartman catalogue (1959: 587) synonymised the name to Spirobranchus giganteus. [details]
