Holotype Salazar-Vallejo (2014) notes that MNHN 627 is regarded as the holotype by the holding museum, but this is doubtful as it is a much smaller specimen than that described twice by Quatrefages (1849 & 1866), and has an 1868 collection date, although apparently from the same location.
