Nomenclature Hartman created a replacement epithet 'hawaiensis' for Audouinia branchiata Treadwell, 1943 because she placed both it and Cirratulus branchiatus Treadwell, 1936 into Cirriformia, although she treated the 1936 species tentatively as a junior synonym of Cirriformia chefooensis (Grube, 1877).
