New combination As Nereis gracilis comb nov.. Jirkov gets the original genus spelling, and the original date wrong. He has 'Thyphlonereis gracilis Hansen, 1878' as the original name (h and y and p in the wrong sequence). He includes Nereis elitoralis Eliason, 1962 in the synonymy. Later Baaken (2003) regarded Typhlonereis as valid, although he was uncertain where it fitted amongst Gymnonereidinae. He does not mention the recombination of Jirkov to Nereis, so may have been unaware of it. [details]
