Etymology Not stated, unknown. The specific epithet paradisea derives from the Greek word paradeisos, meaning 'paradise' (but also 'park', or 'garden'). It could refer to the presence of well developed dorsal crests from chaetiger 10 through chaetiger 60, or to the pre- and postchaetal notopodial lamellae of anterior parapodia being dorsally fused with each other, forming an envelope surrounding notochaetae (maybe resembling the wings of angels?), but the etymology is uncertain.
