The specific epithet curtiuncata is a New Latin adjective composed by the Latin adjectives curti, form of curtus and meaning 'short' or 'shortened', and uncata, meaning 'hooked, bent, or curved inwards', and refers presumably to the short shaft of the uncini of the first neuropodia: "Haken der 1. Neuropodien nur mit sehr kurzem, leicht zu übersehenden Schaft" (Hartmann-Schröder, 1981: 58). [details]
