Habitat Kirkegaard (1982: 254-256) found the species in a sample from a ground of clay, sand, gravel and pebbles, with many empty shells, but considered all the species belonging to the genus Chauvinelia as being bathypelagic or epibenthic. Salazer-Vallejo et al. (2007: 469) considered all species included in the genus Chauvinelia as being bathypelagic. [details]
