Nomenclature Dendrophyllia cribrosa and Dendrophyllia anastomozans were synonymized under the first name by Milne Edwards (1860). Monod (1954) synonymized both species under the latter name, but the first revisionary act in the earlier work by Milne Edwards (1860) has priority and therefore the species should be called Dendrophyllia cribrosa. [details]
