Spelling Redmond et al. (2013) in a large molecular tree with Poecilosclerida transferred Desmacidon ectofibrosa to genus Isodictya without explanation and also not with close relationships to three other Isodictya species. The species was transferred to Fibulia by Samaai & Gibbons (2005: 57) with species name misspelled and confirmed by Payne et al (2025: 34). Not only did Samaai & Gibbons misspell the species name ectofibrosa as ectyofibrosa, but they also misspelled the genus name Fibulia as Fibula. This cannot be corrected with a separate Porifera record because Fibula is a valid name in Mollusca. [details]
