Status The species was synonymised with Astyra gardinieri, by Birstein & Vinogradov, 1955, but it was later revived by Barnard &...
Status The species was synonymised with Astyra gardinieri, by Birstein & Vinogradov, 1955, but it was later revived by Barnard & Karaman, 1991 who provided characters to distinguish the two species (page 705). Examination of all records and preferably of the type species is needed to confirm the status. The species is retained as valid as the most recent publications indicate this (Barnard & Karaman 1991; Thurston 2000) [details]
