Morphology - Telson present, small, usually without terminal setae, but occasionally with 2.
- Uropod inner ramus of 1, 2, or 3 articles.
- Male pleopods absent.
- Number free thoracic somites never reduced.
- Exopods on maxillipeds and the following combinations of pereopods: in the male, 1-4, occasionally 1-3 or 1-2; in the female, absent from third maxillipeds, 0, 2, or 2 + 2 rudimentary on pereopods.
- Mandible with large section dorsal to molar.
