Nomenclature van Niekerk et al (2025) added author parenthesis, creating "Lumbrineris pettigrewi (McIntosh, 1885) comb. nov. reinst.", but Lumbriconereis is a misspelling of Lumbrineris so strictly using the correct spelling is not a recombination despite appearances (it is the same genus of Blainville). It is a genus-spelling correction. Taxon authors' names should not be placed in parenthesis when switching ('recombining') to the correct 'Lumbrineris' spelling of Blainville. This is clearly stated in Code article 51.3.1. [details]
