note: Uljanin proposes the name L. ovatus in the description (p.20), but in the captions of plate 5 the name L. ornatus is used. Leuckart (1871) uses the name Leuconoplana ovata for the species, as did Gra...
Uljanin proposes the name L. ovatus in the description (p.20), but in the captions of plate 5 the name L. ornatus is used. Leuckart (1871) uses the name Leuconoplana ovata for the species, as did Graff (1913). However, Graff (1882) uses the name Acrorhynchus ornatus as the species. As Graff (1913) is the latest authority this is used as the latest authority. Later, the name was considered synonymous with P. mamertinus by Evdonin (1977), a view followed here. .
