Reproduction Sexually mature females found in May (south of Kattegat), August (coastal waters of North America) and in August to September (coastal waters of France). Pettibone (1963) reported large violet colored eggs in the body cavity. [details]

Type designation As its original combination of Aonides fulgens Levinsen, 1884 the species Paraonis fulgens was assigned as type species of Paraonis Grube, 1873 [details]
