Ecology Freshwater records under this name from a tropical brownwater lake in Brazil, by Branco et al. (2005), most likely concern Brachionus quadridentatus f. cluniorbicularis Skorikov. The specimen presented in Fig. 5 clearly shows a distinct sheath surrounding the foot opening, a character diagnostic in B. quadridentatus but absent in B. rotundiformis. [details]Environment saltwater occurrences include inland saline waters. [details]
