Etymology The species is named after Dr. Louis François Rullier (1907-1981), Université Catholique d'Angers, France: "ritengo pienamente giustificata l'istituzione di una nuova specie che donomino Perinereis rullieri in omaggio al prof. F. Rullier che tanto cortesemente mi ha fornito il conforto del Suo parere ["I consider fully justified the institution of a new species which I name Perinereis rullieri in tribute to prof. F. Rullier who so kindly provided me the comfort of his opinion]" (Pilato, 1974: 25). [details]
