Type species When erecting Krebsia as a subgenus of Hipponix, Mörch applied the name Patella militaris to the Caribbean species now identified as Hipponix incurvus (Gmelin, 1791). Patella militaris is now recognized as a synonym of the eastern Atlantic Capulus ungaricus (Linnaeus, 1758) and Krebsia is now generally treated as a subgenus of Capulus, but a formal fixation of the type species under Art. 70.3 of the Code has not been done
