Diagnosis A genus of Charitometridae with 3rd-4th or 4th-5th genital pinnule segments greatly expanded; portion of pinnules distal to gonad abruptly narrower and shorter than expanded portion; ray bases compressed; ray base profiles making an angle of about 45° with each other; IBr series and proximal brachials in close lateral contact and sharply and broadly flattened laterally; arms 10, 90-100 mm long. Description The genus is mainly tropical, but occurs southward to South Africa and the Australian seas, and northward to southern Japan (A.H. Clark, 1907). [details]
