Etymology The species is named after its collector, Edward Flanders Robb Ricketts (b. Chicago, Illinois, 14 May 1897 - d. Salinas, California, 11 May 1948), North American marine biologist, ecologist, and philosopher. [details]
Habitat A borer in shells of the mollusc Concholepas concholepas (Bruguière, 1789), and an associate of serpulid masses of Spirobranchus incrassatus Krøyer in Mörch, 1863, intertidal to shallow waters. [details]
