Original description Diagnosis. Test free, very low trochospiral, evolute on the spiral side, involute on the umbilical side, peripheral outline lobulate in adult, peripheral margin broadly rounded; chambers slightly inflated on both sides, large lobe-like perforate folia of successive chambers on the umbilical side fusing to previous folia and foliar chambers; sutures radial, slightly depressed on spiral side and deeply incised nearly halfway from the periphery on umbilical side; wall calcareous, thin, perforate over entire test; aperture an interiomarginal, and umbilical slit opening beneath the folium, separated by a lobe issuing from the upper rim of the aperture; each folium turning backwards and in a peripheral direction, and attached to the preceding chamber, covering part of the deep intraseptal interlocular space and producing a suprasutural foliar aperture at the peripheral end of the folium; foramenal plate thin, broad and imperforate, an extension of a septal flap, attached to the adjacent previous whorl, cutting off the foliar chamberlet lumen from the main chamber lumen.
