Prionocidaris bispinosa: The shaft is slender and the thorns are not verticillate except in the lowermost whirl being developed only on the adapical side of the shaft., b. Plococidaris sp.: The thorns are arranged in distinct whirls but only on the adapical side of the shaft., c. Plococidaris verticillata: The whirls of thorns are encircling the whole shaft.
