Status It is quite possible that M'Clelland's Echinarachnius conchatus is really identical with Laganum depressum; but his specimen was lacking almost the whole of the oral side (-- M'Clelland very naively regards the whole empty oral side as the mouth of the specimen! --), the extent of the ambulacral furrows is thus not to be made out, a character of importance in the species depressum. [details]
