Status Previously considered to belong to Microcyphus (H.L. Clark, 1912; Mortensen, 1943), this species was transferred to Amblypneustes by Rowe in Rowe & Gates (1995: p. 248) based upon the the examination of the holotype and a second specimen in the South Australian Museum (Adelaide)and additional specimens in the Australian Museum (Sydney). The specimens show sparse but relative even covering of primary and secondary tubercles and spines on plates, and lack the bare areas characteristic of Microcyphus. [details]
