Status This monophyletic group of Jurassic early irregular echinoids is called Infraclypeidae by Saucède et al (2007), but Desorellidae by Barras (2007), which is the older available name for the group. It forms the sister-taxon to Neognathostomata + Microstomata (Saucède et al. 2007) and includes taxa formerly attributed to the paraphyletic family Menopygidae by Lambert & Thiéry (1911: p. 326-327). [details]
