Aporocotyle theragrae n.sp. is described from Theragra chalcogramma taken in the Hokkaido Sea, Japan. It differs from related species in body shape, the ratio of oesophageal length to body length, the arrangement of body spine groups, the presence of sinuous caeca and in having a looped vas deferens.
