That the new species lives in the cardiac stomach of the host sea star alludes to this mythology." Hercules here is an unmodified noun in apposition. The genitive 'herculis' would have been a better choice, as use of unmodified personal names might be confusing, and is not recommended in the Code (Article 31) [details]
