Etymology Species dedicated by the senior author to his professor of biogeography, the Tenured Lecturer and Professor Emeritus of the Universidad de Magallanes (Punta Arenas, Chile) Don Edmundo Pisano Valdés (19th May 1919 - 29th March 1997), who was also co-founder of the Instituto de la Patagonia (Punta Arenas, Chile).
