Nomenclature Although this combination was not used by Ridley, who instead used an unavailable misspelling (D. gymnazon) it is inferred by the fact that Dirrhopalum was erected as a replacement name of Plocamia Schmidt, 1870. When a genus name is replaced it automatically takes the type species of the replaced genus name as its type. The replacement of Plocamia was unjustified (q.v.) and the name gymnazusa misspelled by Ridley as gymnazon. [details]
