Identification Hooper & Wiedenmayer (1994) list two synonyms for Echinonema anchoratum var. ramosa Von Lendenfeld, 1888, one (on p. 51) as a species of Phorbas, and the other (on p.360) as a synonym of Raspailia (Clathriodendron) arbuscula (Von Lendenfeld, 1888), citing for both the holotype reg.nr. AM Z109. The two different identities are probably caused by the fact that according to Hallmann (1912: 299), the latter identity is based on a misapplication of the combination by Whitelegge (1901: 81). The confusion is possibly caused by the possibility that the holotype sample was in fact a syntype containing two different species. [details]
