Classification Based on a re-examination of the type, Santodomingo & Becking (2018, p.20) suggest that this species would be a synonym of Cinachyrella australiensis. However, a re-description of the lectotype is missing and we prefer to wait for additional data (new specimens from Sri Lanka, molecular data) to test this hypothesis. [details]
