Etymology The specific epithet brutus derives from the comic character Brutus, also known as Bluto, from the cartoon created by E.C. Segar Popeye the Sailor Man, and refers to the pair of prostomial horn-like lateral expansions, which resemble the curved arms of a very strong man. [details]
