Etymology The specific epithet hirsutus is a Latin adjective meaning 'hairy' or 'hirsute', and refers to the hairy buccal tentacles, branchiae and pygidium, and scattered tufts of cilia throughout the body of the species. [details]
Habitat Coral rubble, sandy mud, among algae scraped from stones and coral, and sand with Halophila, at intertidal and subtidal depths. [details]
