Alien species Keppel et al (1994) discuss regarding possible alien occurrence in Hawaii. As either B. japonicum or synonymised as B. cingulatum (both Pacific Ocean species) it might be non-native to Hawaii. Carlton & Eldredge (2009) and earlier Goodwin et al (2004) [as Branchiomma japonica] treated it as a non-indigenous species to Hawaii [details]
